Ohio State and Georgia have the two best teams on paper. OSU's schedule is considerably easier, but Buckeyes get the nod b/c of Georgia's early suspensions. High on Texas Tech's potential this year, as long as the defense actually is as good as hyped; Red Raiders may be the team to beat in Big XII. Clemson has one of the best ACC teams in about five years; now have to see if they won't choke. Auburn has a lot of questions to live up to their hype, but getting LSU, UT, and UGA at home can only help.

I wish the Cocktail party could be played twice this year, once in Jacksonville and once in Atlanta. But in the current setup, I see Florida winning in Jacksonville. UGA stung them too hard last year, and Florida's whole season, fan base, and media is pointing to that game. It will be Urban Meyer's toughest task to keep the Gators focused for the rest of their season; I think he will. I see both Florida and UGA with 1 loss in the SEC and Florida beats Auburn for the SEC title. I think Ohio St will win at USC this year, and their only loss could come at Illinois toward the end of the season. I see the Buckeyes pulling it out though. Oklahoma, Missouri, USC, Clemson, Texas Tech, and Illinois will be in the National Title mix with the Illinois/Missouri being an extremely entertaining game. I see a Florida v Ohio St championship game with a Florida victory. All of these opinions will be changed 10,000 times throughout the season, but as of August 22nd, this is where I stand.

    1. Georgia – assuming they don’t have to suspend the rest of their team.
    2. Ohio St. – they lose again to the SEC
    3. Florida – UGA wins back to back in JAX
    4. Clemson – why does Bama have to play them this year?
    5. USC – I hate them. Good the see the NCAA is moving so fast on this Reggie Bush thing…wtf???
    6. Oklahoma – The only team I like in the Big 12
    7. Mizzou – got nothing to say here
    8. Wisconsin – I seriously have no idea why I have them this high
    9. LSU – I hope all Bama fans make it back from that dump
    10. Texas Tech – Wow do I really have them in the top 10
    11. Auburn – This new offense could have them high up or way down (as a gift to John I will put them high up…for now)
    12. Arizona St. – Can’t argue with the perennial party school of the year
    13. BYU – The benefits of playing in a weak conference
    14. Illinois – www.fireronzook.com; worked out well for the Illini
    15. Texas – I hate Texas as well
    16. Alabama – no other team deserves this spot so I am going with the good guys from T’town. Good thing Jennifer and I had a girl; I would have named a boy Julio Jones Chadha.

    1. Georgia -- well boys surprise, surprise...oh god I just puked again...lets just say Georgia #1 with our schedule makes me a bit sick to the ol' stomach
    2. Ohio State- only real road test the entire year is Sept 13th every other ranked opponent travels to Columbus. Strong senior class
    3. Oklahoma- Kansas and Texas Tech both at home, standout sophomore QB and RB behind all senior OL with senior WR
    4. USC- still not convinced Pac 10 offers any real competition. OSU obvious big game will have to see how Dirty Sanchez at QB works out
    5. Florida- I hate them. I really, really hate them; should be looking for offense to carry them and revenge in Jacksonville- Did you know that tim tebow sheds his skin once a year and bathes in grain alcohol...to tim tebow
    6. Missouri- Don't play Oklahoma; lets see if Chase Daniels is the real deal
    7. LSU- Defending champs but serious questions at QB difficult road games; at Auburn and Florida
    8. West Virginia- Pat White and Devine give amazing speed to the offense in a very weak conference, Questions following coaching exodus
    9. Clemson- tough opening game against BAMA; CJ Spiller is extremely explosive and Tommy Bowden knows this year better be a good one
    10. Texas Tech- Graham Harrell could throw for 6000 yards this year (I am aware that I have three Big 12 teams in top ten)
    11. Wisconsin
    12. Auburn
    13. Texas
    14. Kansas
    15. Virginia Tech
    16. Arizona State

I realize that I fell short on the explanations but most of you know that it took me quite a long time to make it seem as though I really know anything about non SEC schools. Most of my info came from ESPN radio and a few team websites. Not to mention that I have started on the Jack to relieve some of the preseason nausea with Georgia at #1.

    1. Oklahoma - As good as any to start off the first poll, besides with first 5 games being Chattanooga, Cincinnati , Washington , TCU and Baylor I shouldn't have to make an early change to
my top spot and look foolish.

    2. Southern Cal - Not sure how good they really are, but a win over SEC whipping boy Ohio State will give them early recognition.

    3. Georgia - I don't really believe they are #3 or will be there too long, but everyone else is in love so I don't want to look stupid An early stretch of at So Car, Az St, Ala & Tenn will end the dream.

    4. Tennessee - A little bias. Possibly the best secondary and OL in the country. Solid QB and strong running game. A rout over UCLA and early win at home vs UF will solidify them as contender.

    5. Virginia Tech - Best of the ACC, won't be tested until road game to Nebraska if then.

    6. Wisconsin - Only road blocks on the schedule, home games against Ohio State and Illinois.

    7. Florida - Big problems on defensive ball means they will have to outscore everyone, which they might. Key will be keeping Tebow healthy.

    8. Ohio St - Will not return to the BCS Championship game.

    9. West Virginia - Weak schedule in a weak conference, Auburn at home late in the season will be the only test.

    10. Clemson - How long does Bowden have left if this isn't a banner year?

    11. Missouri - Still not impressed with B12, we will see if '07 was a fluke.

    12. LSU - Let's see how well Les Miles can do when he really has to coach.

    13. Illinois - Zookem if they can't take a joke.

    14. Wake Forest - Grobe might be one of the best coaches around.

    15. Arizona St - Not up to date on the PAC 10 just feel the deserve another team in top 15.

    16. Auburn - Who knows

Well this is a start, we see how many changes will have to be made after two weeks.
