    Comments:
"Florida 13-1; dominated schedule and only loss was by one point to giant-killer Ole Miss

Texas 12-1; defense not nearly as good as Florida's, but strong Fiesta bowl comeback win

USC 12-1; below Texas because weaker conference and their loss was to then-unranked Oregon State

Oklahoma 12-2; great offense, but lost to Texas at home

Utah 13-0; undefeated, yes, but they play in a weak conference and I can't say they'd beat Florida, Texas, USC, or Oklahoma while keeping a straight face.

Alabama 12-2; have to put them below Utah, but on a better day they'd be #4

Penn St. 11-2; lost bowl game to superior USC, but 3-0 against 25 teams in reg. season

UGA 10-3; 2 losses to superior teams in regular season and lost to a decent GA Tech team, but I think the odds of them losing to teams below are low

TCU 11-2 above Boise St. due to bowl game, but not much reg. Season competition

Boise State 12-1; finally played a decent team in bowl and lost

Texas Tech 11-2; lost bowl game they should have won; 3-1 against top 25 teams in reg. season

Ohio St 10-3; kept up with Texas in bowl, and only lost to higher ranked teams in reg. season

Oregon 10-3 strong showing in bowl

Ole Miss 9-4; Won bowl game; beat Florida, Bama, LSU in reg. Season

Oregon St 9-4 Won bowl game; beat USC in reg. Season

Virginia Tech 9-4; won bowl game, 2-1 against top 25 teams and had a lot of close games in reg. Season

Comments: I had a chance to see both Florida and Texas play this season, and while the Longhorns crushed Missouri at home, after seeing TimTebow, it's difficult to see how any team would be able to stop him - tough USC, especially with a month break, would have given it a shot. Utah deserves to be listed among the elite after the Sugar Bowl win. Don't think that they have the depth to compete if there were a three week playoff against the elite. Looking at the full body of work, I have to give the nod to Florida. The SEC, though in a down year, still got four teams in my top 12, more than any other conference.

    Comments:
What a great season of football! Twists and turns all along the way. First off - Great job this season to Florida, USC, Utah, and Texas. Wouldn't it be great if we could see them play in a 4 team playoff to determine the true champion? Since the Pac 10 and Big 10 want to keep the current system, I hope that it is one of their teams left on the outside each year. Quite possibly USC could be the best team in the country, tell your President and Commissioner to sign off on a playoff and maybe you will get your trophy. However, with the current system, Florida is my National Champion. It has been a fun ride with Alabama this year, I wish the 2 losses would have come at a different time, but 12-2 is better than I was expecting this year. Great job to the Tide! Hopefully in the future, when ESPN and ABC have the whole BCS bowl schedule, I can say that I enjoyed all of the big games. Even with good competition, the broadcast on FOX was a huge failure. How can you pick those 2 idiots last night to announce the National Championship Game????? My wife and I did a better job announcing the game in our living room last night. That aside, I love college football and can't wait for the next 9 months to pass so that the fun can start again.....

Split National Champions for me. I just feel that if USC and UF played 10 games against each other, SC would win 5 and UF would win 5. I can't say the same for Utah if they were put in the same situation. Imagine a 4 team playoff with USC, Florida, Utah, and Texas!!!!!!! That would leave no doubts who the real champion is.
