Final Pollsters Tallies: Bowls take their toll

Sadly, football season has come to a close, and the bowl games didn't favor the pollster's picks, putting us lower than .500 for our first season. However, the bright side if you figure that at $10.00 a game, we only lost 10 bucks for the whole season.
A big congrats should go out to Greg, who really finished strong in the final round of the season, winning 7 or his 12 picks, and finishing with a 51-37. Max finished just 2 games shy of first for 2nd, and I finished 5 games out in 3rd.
Maybe we'll have better luck next season. Thanks again to all who participated, it was fun, and close right up to the end. See you next season!

Pick 'Em Picks Texas A&M

In what is sure to be a high-profile, all about style-points game, the SFCF Pollsters have picked the Longhorns to fail to impress the BCS. The 35.5 point spread just appears to be too much for the Longhorn's to overcome. Failing to impress in the last game may just open the door for Oklahoma to get the Big 12 South Nod.

Ball State Picked Again!

Ball St was picked by our pollsters to cover the 10.5 point spread, even though they may never play on a weekend. Hopefully they pull through again, and complete their undefeated season.
Western Michigan vs Ball St (-10.5)

How About That Oklahoma Team!

A good week for our pollsters, and a good week for the favorites. As Ashley noted, you have to like the favorites this week, and only 2 did not cover. A huge week for Oklahoma, who finally looked like the Big 12 Champs they have been made up to be. LSU just gets blown out, TCU just destroyed an outclassed Air Force team, and Penn St did the same for JoePa's 383rd victory. Everyone tip their hat to Doug for going just shy of undefeated, losing only the LSU game. Rivalry week is next, so plenty of close spreads, and good games upcoming.

Pick 'Em... Better... But Some Work to Do

Alright, the results are in (have been in, but I've been recovering). Congrats to Greg, and Jordan. In terms of stratgey, Jordan made all his picks, then made the reverse, and he was this weeks co-winner. This week looks to be a great week for watching football. Some big games with some important implications, so pick them well.

Pick 'Em... Workin' Back to a .500 Week

Another week where our pollsters took one on the nose, but we did take advantage of the extra game to edge the woeful week two 5-7. Kudos to Greg and Jeff, taking a 7 and 8, respectively, while Frayser also inched past Jarad. Glory be to Jordan though, who kept Jarad out of this week's cellar with his lowly 3.

The polls are now closed and we're locked with these 13 pollsters for the rest of the way. With the pollsters finalized, the scores have been updated to address pollster that missed a week. Any pollster that missed a week received one point less than the lowest point-getter of that week. (e.g. Both Anil and Travis took two points after missing Week 3, one point less than Jordan).

Going forward, any pollster that misses a week will receive one point less than the lowest pollster.

Pick 'Em..... Ouch

Well, this week was the week for some great performances (mainly teams we didn't think would cover), and some under-performances (on teams we thought would cover). Tulsa was finally exposed by a lesser SEC team, and we should consider that when ranking non-BCS teams. So here are the final tallies, and our results...

The Results Are In...

Ok, once again Tech doesn't show up, loses to UVA, and forces me to celebrate less than I would've. So, I've tallied all our results in my less celebrated form.
Overall, our Pollsters were pretty spot on. We went 9-3-0 for our first week among our Top 16. South Florida continues to underperform, USC did the same, and Florida came out on fire against Kentucky, which no-one expected.
Here is how our Pollsters faired
Jarad - 10-2: I promise I didn't cheat, and I'll start sending my poll out to everyone as well.
Anil - 9-3
Greg - 9-3
Eddie - 8-4
Travis - 7-5
Max - 7-5
Ashley - 6-6
Jordan - 5-7
Jeff - 5-7
John - 4-8
