USC, UW slide after first loss

Southern California's stunning upset loss to 41-point underdog Stanford resulted in the Trojans sliding six spots from their No. 2 ranking in this week's Southern College Football Poll. Wisconsin, ranked No. 5, fell 11 spots after losing to previously unranked Illinois in Champaign, Ill.

LSU received all 18 first place votes this week, as the Tigers are the first SCF poll unanimous No. 1 after defeated Florida 28-24 in Baton Rouge, La. on Saturday night. California moved up to No. 2, followed by Ohio State, Oklahoma and Boston College. South Florida, which narrowly edged Florida Atlantic, remained at No. 6, one spot above South Carolina, which knocked off previously unbeaten Kentucky last Thursday. USC, Oregon and unbeaten Missouri complete the top 10.

West Virginia moved up four spots to No. 11. Virginia Tech enters the SCF poll for the first time this season after thrashing Clemson. The Hokies are followed by Arizona State, Florida, Hawaii and Wisconsin.

In a match-up of division leaders, No. 10 Missouri takes its undefeated record on the road to play No. 4 Oklahoma while No. 1 LSU travels to Kentucky (4-1). No. 5 Boston College travels to Notre Dame, which garnered its first victory of the season last weekend over UCLA.
