Ohio State keeps the top ranking for now; if Buckeyes can't ride their 'D' then trip to State College won't end happily. Unbeaten ASU edges Oregon due to unbeaten record. Ducks get Trojans at Autzen this weekend. Auburn jumps in my poll due to an extremely close lose to probably the best team in the country.

I love college football. What a great win for Alabama over UT on Saturday! I know that Alabama at 16 could be discussed, but South Carolina lost to Vandy, Kentucky is coming off of another loss, and UGA hasn't looked good lately. Looking at the Top 4 in my poll this week, I actually see all four losing next weekend: Penn St over Ohio St, Cal over Arizona St, Virginia Tech over Boston College, and Texas A&M over Kansas. Should be a great weekend of football coming up!! It could be #1 LSU coming to Tuscaloosa in two weeks. Other big games: Georgia/Florida, South Carolina/Tennessee, and USC/Oregon.

I still don't think we're done moving the pretenders out of the list, but that day is coming.

No. 17 Michigan - thats right, they almost made it in.
OSU has got the #1 spot by default. If would be nice to see them play a division 1 opponent. BC's 1st test is this Thursday. We will see exactly how good Ryan is. LSU edges out Oklahoma due to the Sooners getting lucky against a terrible Iowa St. team. Can the Ducks be a top 5 team? UWV looked good against decent Miss St. team. Zona St needs to show me something soon. Virgina Tech is looking better and better. Florida scares the crap out of me, but if Tebow gets hurt they will be in bad shape. Kansas edged out the Buffs to earn 1 strip in my book (that makes 1 strip total). South Florida looked to be not half bad even with the lost. Mizzou and USC did just enough in my book to stay where they are at. I guess that I have to put Hawaii in my top 16 now (not happy about this). Kentucky and S. Carolina round up the top 16.

Just a note on Big Head Les - there would have been 4 seconds on the clock if the operator was not trying to end the game there. I think it was a huge surprise, and a very tough way to lose.

If the defense plays like it has all year, OSU will win without a problem at Penn State. No one has a better résumé than LSU, but all the big wins are at home, and the D isn't as good as most are making it out to be. The Gators might actually be better than LSU. Losing to Oklahoma in Norman isn’t anything to dog Missouri for, but beating Iowa State, Colorado, and Texas A&M won’t exactly bring BCS title talk to Columbia. The Wolverines are playing through injuries, tough environments, everything, to look like a true Big Ten title contender. If you believe LSU is really the best team in the country, then right now, theoretically, Auburn could be playing like one of the five best; losing to South Carolina and Florida still might mean UK is among the ten best teams in America.
