Reactions from Around the SEC

Just finished watching the Tennessee debacle. Has there been a worse coach in the past five years with the pressure on than Phil Fulmer (sit down Tommy B., I don't think you'll be a head coach next month).

The Volunteers made four interceptions in the first half, and had 14 points to show for it. UCLA was floundering with it's 12th string QB, the Rose Bowl crowd was as non-existent as, well, a PAC-10 crowd, and all UT needed was 21 points to put it out of reach. Instead, they blow not one but two leads and stumble to a mediocre PAC-10 team.

So the question is how much longer does Tennessee put up with this? With Lloyd Carr out at Michigan, Fulmer now becomes the answer to the drunken pondering of which national championship coach is most on the hot-seat. Fulmer has won three SEC East championships but no SEC Championships since the 98 National Championship, and has only received national attention once (2001) in that time.

As much as has been said about Tommy Bowden, the same sentiment has to be shown toward Knoxville.

Aftermath from the Georgia Dome:

First, a note from before the Alabama-Clemson game:
Nix4Six provides his predictions each week for some of the biggest games. While I can't say too much about his picks since he currently holds the Georgia Buddha, I have to show his prediction for the Clemson-Alabama game, which is about as wrong as it could be.

Second, Coach Hal, the biggest of the Bama boosters on our voting panel, provides his commentary and thoughts following the Tide's victory over Clemson. Also, his friend, Beebo, also gives some thoughts. I know Coach pretty well; Beebo however is up for the crowd's reaction.

Third, a commentary/rant from an impartial (well, a UGA fan) about Clemson's performance and the Tide's swagger following the game. This one is from the Rail Bird.

  1. Yeah I made some bad picks and it cost me some money. But it could be worse...at least I don't have to live this down
