I'm sure I'll end up hating whoever replaces him as the in-studio analyst, but I'm so tired of the annual undeserved Notre Dame homer-fest that is Lou Holtz.
Today is perhaps the biggest list of non-conference games ever played in the first few weeks of the season. Rarely do you get one or two interesting non-conference games this early, let alone six. And the headliners are clearly Ohio State-Miami, Oklahoma-Florida State, and Alabama- Penn State.
But when asked which game was the biggest of the day? Lou: Notre Dame vs. Michigan - a game of two unranked teams. This game is about the same level as Oregon vs. Tennessee, and, in terms of actual performance on the field, would get the attention of a UVA-USC if not for the names of the teams involved.
Just another example of how little relevant analysis Holtz brings to a telecast.
