With their 70-30 win over Tulsa, the Houston Cougars (6-4) are the Southern Fans' National Team of the Week for games of the weekend of Nov. 15.
Case Keenum threw six touchdown passes – five in the first half – and ran for another score as the Cougars raced to a 42-17 halftime lead.
Houston's Loyce Means intercepted three passes, including one he returned 69 yards for a touchdown.
The win moves Houston into a three-way tie for first place in Conference USA's West division with Rice and Tulsa.

Percy Harvin ran for a career-high 167 yards to pace the Gators in their 56-6 rout of South Carolina.
Miami
W - vs. Virginia Tech 16-14
Miami kicker Matt Bosher tied a career high with three field goals and Javarris James rushed for a touchdown while the Hurricane defense held the rival Hokies to just 2-for-11 on third-down conversions, as Miami won their fifth straight to move into first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference's Coastal Division.
Oregon State
W - vs. California 31-24
Oregon State won its fifth straight, its longest single-season streak since it won the final seven games of 2000, behind 144 yards rushing from Jacquizz Rodgers, his seventh 100-yard rushing game this season, as the Beavers are just two wins away from their first Rose Bowl appearance since 1965.
Vanderbilt (6-4)
W - at Kentucky 31-24
D.J. Moore caught two touchdown passes and had a pair of interceptions as Vanderbilt became bowl eligible for the first time since 1982 with a 31-24 win at Kentucky.
The Southern Fans' Poll began naming a national team of the week this season. Members of the Southern Fan's pool of voters decide the weekly honor. Each Monday during the 2008 college football season, the Southern Fans will name the National Team of the Week through Dec. 1.
